Rocktree's MgO Building Board Pilot Production Run–  Winter 2026-Spring 2027

Canadian-made magnesium oxide building board designed for fire-resilient, moisture-tolerant construction. Near-term toll production in Nova Scotia, scaling to a dedicated Canadian plant.

What it is

Rocktree MgO Board is a mineral-based sheathing/interior board developed for applications where conventional boards struggle with moisture, mold risk, and fire exposure. It’s built for demanding Canadian conditions and long service life.

What it does

  • Supports fire-resilient assemblies (non-combustible mineral board pathway; testing and listings in progress)

  • Handles humidity and wetting events better than paper-faced boards

  • Helps reduce callbacks tied to mould, rot, and material breakdown

  • Enables more durable building enclosures for coastal, northern, and institutional builds

Why it’s better

Most builders are being asked to reduce embodied carbon and increase resilience at the same time—but typical material choices force trade-offs. Rocktree is built to remove the trade-off: lower-carbon direction + better durability + better resilience in one product.
